New ‘Green Clips’ Behind-The-Scenes Video Motifs featuring Killer Looks and Noise, ALTERED and Trippy T

Trippy Tran Films - STAR LOGO HiResWe’ve all seen those bonus features that show us the behind the scenes of our favorite videos and it’s no surprise that Trippy Tran Films is avid about releasing extra material to give to fans – and also respectively to the cast and crew that put their blood, sweat and tears into making community film productions, especially in the beginning stages of our legacy in Cincinnati, OH.

This past summer, for the first time ever we released raw, unedited, uncut recordings of us working on our various productions that we are going to call Green Clips – ‘green’ meaning fresh and new since this hasn’t necessarily been done before, a term also used in the industry.

Get Ready to Jam Out! Director's Cut available to rent or buy at https://www.indiereign.com/video/my-vacation-in-cincinnatiGet Ready to Jam Out! Check out the Director’s Cut to My Vacation In Cincinnati available to rent or buy at https://www.indiereign.com/video/my-vacation-in-cincinnati

The reason we are doing ‘Green Clips’ is because first off, a lack of compatibility between the Sony Handycam we taped with and the editing system made it impossible for us to work with. (Remember folks: we are still independent and are looking to raise money for our many projects. Consider donating!) Secondly, using YouTube to host a series of video clips that show everything that happened from when the camera rolls until the operator cuts showcases the realism of the project. That’s not saying we uploaded every little clip ever for these motifs because we made sure to keep it as interesting as possible without wasting time and still maintaining the integrity of the original projects. (New videos below!)

KILLER LOOKS AND NOISE – Empty Minds (Music Video)
Searching for the right Obliquity music while showcasing Greater Cincinnati Area and beyond bands and music talents was not an easy endeavor. Tran talked to many musicians who, when simply put, was not in it to win it, but when we found the 26 talented artists that signed to our debut feature, we knew we had to do a couple music videos.

The first band who was completely down is contemporary punk rockers Killer Looks and Noise. Director Anthony Tran worked with Daniel Kamphaus, Tyler Stroup (Wreckfest), Phillip Russo (who hosted premier parties and the location of our film My Vacation In Cincinnati – which is also locale in this), and a few others including the band to complete this video shot in a day. See the mayhem and fun of some of the making of shoot.

ALTERED – Obliquity (Making of the Track)

Hard rockers ALTERED approached Tran about making a song for our debut feature film, Obliquity and ended up making a title track with the same name. The heavy melodic tune ‘Obliquity’ is also available to buy on iTunes. See the process of them making the song in the recording studio exclusively in this playlist.

TRIPPY T – Unfreeze (2012)/Shimmer of Longing (Music Video)

Planned and released the day the Mayan Calendar ended (December 21, 2012) and for a competition, ‘2012/Shimmer’ became a recognized video. Working on music with composer Michail Sinenko AKA Sonanze, Trippy T (Anthony Rory Tran’s current artist name) knew a music video had to be done. He pulled a team of people to come together for various shoots including the college he received his Associates degree in Audio/Video Technology, Newport on the Levee and other locations. His 2012 debut music video put him in the spotlight after being behind the camera.

Guest director Josh Gerrety came on board from Eazy World Entertainment to guide Trippy T with the help of Christopher Wesley of Sovereign Entertainment, DP Charles Pierson, Key Grip James Willis and Wreckfest’s Selena Klaphake and Tyler Stroup with many more amazing people came to help that day. Lauren Stinson was the VFX editor. The video was made for a week competition and had mixed reviews. The powerful message seemed to not sit well with Internet trolls, but still remains to be a unique representation of of the Obliquity soundtrack.

OBLIQUITY: IMAGERY OF THE UNKNOWN
Over 100 clips have made it to this playlist on the YouTube.com/TrippyTranFilms channel.

We start in 2011, two years after the project, but then backtrack to look at cell phone recorded videos from 2009 and then go to more “HD” Handycam footage (we put quotes on HD because Sony, that is not true HD!) From creepy hallway scenes, free Chipotlé on set, never-before-seen interviews, shooting the sequel tie-ins to DUALITY at Sharon Woods, our beloved friend and actor Chris Corman who plays Chaz, plus the final day of filming, voice overs, photo shoots and more are all here. That’s not saying we revealed many spoilers here, so you’re (mostly) safe with that, but it does showcase locations. We plan on releasing more GC after the film is publicly released.

The Most Offensive Horror Parody Releases: The Dumbest Horror Flick Ever

**TDHFE 2015 - Promo Day 2c - Jeepers Creepers.jpg**TDHFE 2015 Promo - One More Day - Dee

In today’s world, the media has pushed the envelope whether it’s saying “shit” on TV and radio more than ever, discussing racial topics and exploiting others for it, lots of boobage and sex on YouTube and TV (Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”, Justin Timberlake’s “Tunnel Vision” and hello – Miley Cyrus) or just plain violent programming on network TV and cable access (Hannibal or MTV’s Scream that premiered Tuesday anyone?) Needless to say, the world has changed a lot in the last 10 years.

New 2015 trailer parodies “The Gallows” TV Spot.

Watch the full movie for free below!

Disclaimer: This film is may be rude, crude, offensive, politically incorrect and is for mature (and immature) audiences who like that. The movie in no way represents the feelings or thoughts of anyone involved in the project. Trippy Tran Films holds no responsibility for the material of this film. You have been warned. You may get pissed off – or you may just laugh.. a lot.

Parodies in #TDHFE include Scream, The Ring, Final Destination, Darkness Falls, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Freddy vs. Jason, Saw, Taco Bell, Scream 4 (even though it was released 6 years after Tran’s short, he originally had a Scream barn scene parody) and more. The script had tons more parodies that have never been filmed yet, but the final product is still pretty awesome.

Flashback to 2004/2005. Director/writer Anthony Tran was 16 years old and went to YMCA Summer Camp before his junior year. There, he wrote a short skit including 4 girls in his weight lifting class. The skit was then presented on stage for the end of the week talent show called “Scream Again Yo” being a parody of the Scream franchise as well as other horror films. He then wrote his “Sk8r Boi” Avril Lavigne parody called “Hermaphrodites”. Then in his junior year of high school, he went to attend the Scarlet Oaks Vocational School in Cincinnati in the program most fitting for him: Digital Television Production or DTV. He was making new music videos, skits, learning how to edit with Final Cut Pro and more. His passion for writing hadn’t stopped and so he turned his Scream Again Yo into a 50 page script called The Dumbest Horror Flick Ever. With friends reading it, some shocked and some thinking it was the most hilarious thing ever, he began to film scenes for the project and edited it at school.

First reaction at to “Hungry Potentials” scene in The Dumbest Horror Flick Ever

Ring tdhfe still 2

Now the kicker is that he was 16, young, a rebel, with an imagination like no other. He implemented racial issues into his movie and began to talk about what is funny in different cultures for an ending that left everyone washed away by the flood (except for a “lucky” few) spoofing The Day After Tomorrow and realizing that without the differences and cultures in our world, it would indeed be a boring place. But that’s not without saying the film may be offensive to many with it’s racial slurs, fat jokes and mentally challenged spoofs of horror icons Freddy and Jason.

Ring TDHFE still1As Tran grew up, he didn’t really get back into putting the film together as the script was only half shot, the Scream Again Yo scene never to be found (never filmed except for the YMCA Leaders Camp skit in which he paid for and never received a DVD for) and a lot of politically incorrect teenage angst built up as he was bullied in school before he began the project by several races that judged him for being half Asian (and ambitious) for being himself.

EXCLUSIVE! Read part of the original script here.

10 years later with moving films like His Name Is Walter to even more comedy mayhem like Wreckfest, Tran decided to take a look at whatever footage was salvaged before the film was gone for good. A fresh new cut – literally – has been made for the film. Some scenes were unable to be found like the classic The Ring parody where he actually shot the side of the TV with his friend Kat crawling out with long hair asking for chalupas. Memories like that will never be forgotten as he attempted his first feature, and only time will tell if any of the other footage will ever see the new world of YouTube and social media. At least we have this. The most offensive movie you may ever see.

ORGY ‘Talk Sick’ Album Lyrics + Review

Read the short album review at Orgy: Meeting Jay Gordon ‘Sick Talk’ Tour and read the track-by-track review below, including ‘Talk Sick’ lyrics. If it has a ‘(/)’ in the lyrics, it means I’m not sure if that is the correct lyric. I did my best listening intently and I have worked for over 2 1/2 years at iHeartRadio for Clear Channel Media + Entertainment from 2011-2014 working in the music engineering department listening for content before songs would be aired on the radio nationally.

TALK SICK

You’ve got some nerve to throw it in my face
Tsunami coming from miles
They want your money, honey
Redlight District to get yourself a taste
Don’t they seem so loving?

Trick or treat and we fade away
Kicked to the curb on judgment day
A pinch of salt in your hater-ade
Just a little bit of torture
Hoping that you’ll blast away

[Hook]
Move a little closer
Listen to the clock tick
Tell me if you want it
Yeah, I can make you talk sick
Move a little closer
Listen to the clock tick
It’s all about control
Yeah, I can make you talk sick

Come fake the fire, desire
Get you higher than high
Fire, fire, desire
Suck you dryer than dry
Just see the sequel
To race you to the steeple
And laugh
But on the bright side
We should bang one last time

On the dream but we scared away
Feed the creeps as you blow L.A.
All the money get all these lames
Got a bullet and a bee sting
Does anybody feel okay?!  (/)
HEEYY!!!! / LAAME!!!

[Hook]
Move a little closer
Listen to the clock tick
Tell me if you want it
Yeah, I can make you talk sick
Move a little closer
Listen to the clock tick
It’s all about control
Yeah, I can make you talk sick/toxic

I can make you talk sick/toxic x2

“Talk Sick” Review:
Gritty, grimy with synth slammin’ and fast shooting melodies, ‘Talk Sick’ revives the vibe we know and love about the creative orgy of sounds giving the band the name they have carried since they were signed to Elementree Records (by Jonathan Davis, lead singer of KoRn) and adds a pretty heavy twist that some may remember from Punk Statik Paranoia while being as original as songs from Candyass such as Fetisha, Dissention and Platinum. If you were to compare it to earlier work, Talk Sick almost  sounds like a raging version of Leave Me Out without all the constant screaming, but with paralyzing dark undertones. Frequently, Jay lays down a sort of rap while the guitars spastically rumble.

The revival of Orgy in this track brings one hell of an opener (Talk Sick is the EP title) so be prepared to chant “I can make you talk sick” almost sounding as if you are saying “I can make you toxic”  and take it however you want. The lyrics here are pure original and pretty outstanding considering it to be a fast-paced rock song.

5/5 – Brings back original Orgy style while maintaining its independent heavy rock sounds with a tempo-changing breakdown that will make you nod your head and hit repeat.

*When I met Jay Gordon at the Sick Talk Tour premiere in LA on 3.21.15, he told me that his favorite track from the album is in fact “Talk Sick”.

SPELLS

Welcome to a dangerous life
A dangerous ride
A dangerous kiss
Give me all of your attention
Keep up with the class
Or sink with the ship

Uhh
But I can’t put my finger on it
She’s got her lips wrapped all around it
Redbull – give me wings to fly
But the fact is here tonight

[Hook]
I’ve seen the devil has got me in a spell
But I’m not one to kiss and tell
(Kiss and tell)
I’ve seen the devil has got me in a spell
But I’m not one to kiss and tell
(Kiss and tell)

Dig in and heat it up
Talk the small talk
And beat it up
Kiss those lips
And turn to dust
Don’t trust machines
They’re just like us

I can’t put my finger on it
Got her lips wrapped all around it
This spell’s gonna win the fight
But the fact here is tonight

[Hook]
I’ve seen the devil has got me in a spell
But I’m not one to kiss and tell
(Kiss and tell)
I’ve seen the devil has got me in a spell
But I’m not one to kiss and tell
(Kiss and tell)

Speak those spells
And everyone falls
Twisted chicks on alcohol
(Can’t put my- Put my finger on it)

Got her lips wrapped all around it
Twisted chicks on alcohol
(She’s got her – )
(Can’t put my- Put my finger on it)
(Can’t put my finger on it-  Put my finger on it)

[Hook]
I’ve seen the devil has got me in a spell
But I’m not one to kiss and tell
(Kiss and tell)
I’ve seen the devil has got me in a spell
But I’m not one to kiss and tell
(Kiss and tell)

Kiss and Tell
(Kiss and tell)

I’ve seen the devil has got me in a spell
But I’m not one to kiss and tell
(Kiss and tell) x3

“Spells” Review:
The beginning of “Spells” reminds me of the robotic-sung verses of Opticon, but quickly diverts and changes into something even more pleasant and creative. When the chorus comes in and be prepared for it to sneak into your head later in the day like it did to me. Lyrics reflect maybe even a continuation of Fiction (Dreams In Digital) from their 2nd album Vapor Transmission. The electric sounds remind me kind of like the Donkey Kong Country soundtrack (but a lot heavier) and the song will get you ready for all the dancier rock songs that continue to take a darker route all the way to ‘Monster’ while still dishing out sing-a-long anthems.

The production is strong as the bridge plays with vocal filters and effects and kind of glitches out in a well-placed fashion. The final guitar solo is worth the listen as the chorus rings in your head “I see the devil’s got me in a spell / But I’m not one to kiss and tell” and believe me, those words will fall off your lips at some point during your week.

4.7/5
At 3 minutes, the song does its purpose, but parts of it reminded me of things I did not really like in Opticon, primarily the sci-fi-induced static verse presentation in the first few lines, but that’s my personally opinion and I still enjoy most of everything that is created in ‘Spells’. It’s actually grown a lot on me since the first listen and is quickly becoming a new favorite.

“Suck It” Review:
Let me just say that as a trashy sex song, the pulsating guitars are going to get stuck in your head as the screaming chant “Suck It!” is repeated. Besides being the most provocative song that Orgy has put out to date yet, reminiscent lyrics like “dirty little whore” will remind you of the song “Dizzy”, the closing on their Candyass album, which may bring back the reason you like Orgy to begin with, but has a vampiric atmosphere going along with the theme of “Suck It.”

When the breakdown comes in, the classic trippy-zoning sounds of all instruments whirl through as Jay repeats “I don’t want to love you” and is one to please. “Suck It” may find its way to being favorited when you don’t want to give a flying suck. His raging vocals may also bring one back to the pre-chorus in “Vague” which makes this rock song stand out on its own, but is evolved while implementing what made them so good as a band to begin with. And these are mostly new members?(Besides vocalist Jay Gordon of course.) BravOrgy! (Bravo and Orgy… I just made that up.)

“Come Back” Review:
If you didn’t want another song to get stuck in your head, too late. “Come Back” is one of the catchiest songs on the record with every section of the song offering something new and contorting with different sounds. The pre-chorus especially has an almost soothing 90’s vibe that then switches to some metal-raging angst of Jay telling the person that you’re gonna “come back”, almost being controlling and dominant with the person.

The lyrics seem to say that since he’s famous (or king sh!t), that this person may not be happy, but will enjoy being with him in different ways anyway. I like this song because it’s kind of dancy with a lot of heavy rock at the same time. Lyrically, the ‘dominance’ acts like a narrative and could be interpreted as saying that some people in the industry/music biz may even act this way. It’s a unique and pretty genius song if you ask me which is why it is tied for being one of the most stand-out tracks on the Talk Sick EP and is a personal favorite.

Wide Awake And Dead

Sleeping with your headphones turned up
Looking like a doll
Pillow talk to solve your problems
Another to break your fall

So here we go again
It’s a race to cut ties
The mental hopscotch has got us feeling paralyzed
The thrill of the chase
A loveless embrace
A big chance to twist your faith

‘Cause you don’t care about nothing
Oooo You don’t care about anything

[Hook]
When it rains it pours
Everybody needs to take a little something for the head (Oohhh)
Does it make you feel better wide awake and dead
‘Cause you’re acting like a zombie
(Oh wide awake and dead)
Like a zombie

The sun is out now before we melt to the ground
And all is said and done
One more chance to think it over
Before the wipe out comes

Here we go again (here we go again)
From one fiend to another
We’re perfect for each other
The thrill of the chase
A loveless embrace
A big chance to twist your faith

‘Cause you don’t care about nothing
Oooo You don’t care about anything

[Hook]
When it rains it pours
Everybody needs to take a little something for the head (Oohhh)

Wide Awake and Dead was released in 2014 as Orgy’s new single after 2012’s “Grime of the Century” and boy, did it strike a wave with me… a wave of refreshing cool ocean water splashing off some of the distaste I had with certain releases today. (Let me explain. It seems as though there are plenty of talents making moves, but we are force-fed mediocre and limited talents that are making all the moves while starving independent artists have talents that are thrown to the side as if they are a stupid ragdoll with a zombie brain, when in turn, that is what THEY are for not utilizing and celebrating the gift of life and talent in all degrees.)

WAD explains as Jay tells you that “when it rains it pour and everybody needs to take a little something for the head”. Oh oh oh oh oh how fantastic are these lyrics in a world-turned zombified with technology and no appreciation for humanity while many are being manipulated by corporations and industries to only want to like a certain thing, or thinking only on what’s on TV is ‘cool’ (or YouTube nowadays) and people nowadays seem to think that life is about lying and just getting their way and raping the mindsets of others rather than encouraging us to become a better species. Clearly, I like this song, it somewhat even relates to concepts I have put in my film projects at trippytranfilms.com including our soon-to-be-released debut feature ‘Obliquity’, and if I get to talk to Jay and the D1 team again, I will ask to utilize the song in a collaboration. It’s that good. Listen to it now. And go watch the music video. It’s colorful and awesome.

G FACE

Don’t look so down and out
Built your house
You burned it down
You’re not so innocent now (now)
Just can’t wait to blow this place
Feeling like a basket case
Yeah, we play
Replay
Let me see your G Face

Underneath the broken gown
Live so solid (/)
Broken down
Somehow you’re living a dream
Just like that you’re lost in space
Bitch-slapped in your poker face
Yeah, we play, replay
Let me see your G face

[Hook]
Throw your tips on the table
And let it ride
When the sun comes up
We won’t remember tonight
We jump another capitol
Flat on our faces
And that’s how we play
Replay
Let me see your G face

You’re the captain
Now you’re in control
Your ship is sinking oh so slow
Too late for promises now
All those white girls dance around and sing
Head to toe
And gathering
Yeah, we play
Replay
Let me see your G Face
Into the deep we go
Just how low
We’ll never know
You look to drag us down
Lost a bit of aftertaste
Waking in a windowspace (/)
Yeah, we play
Replay
Let me see your G Face

[Hook]
Throw your tips on the table
And let it ride
When the sun comes up
We won’t remember tonight
We jump another capitol
Flat on our faces
And that’s how we play
Replay
Let me see your G face

Throw your tips on the table
And let it ride
When the sun comes up
We won’t remember tonight
We jump another capitol
Flat on our faces
And that’s how we play
Replay
Let me see your G face

[Bridge]
Let me see your G face!

Another soldier
And they sit and kid
You’re looking good
But you’re feeling the pressure
Another day
Another cut to the head
We look inside
Before they left you for dead
Another soldier
And they sit and kid
You’re looking good
But you’re feeling the pressure
Switching geek (/)
Put your body in check
And that’s how we play
Replay
Let me see your G face (G face! G face!)

Now a pick a place
A face – it needs it (/)
Same poles standing
Like masturbation (/)

[Reprise]
Throw your tips on the table
And let it ride
When the sun comes up
We won’t remember tonight
We jump another capitol
Flat on our faces
And that’s how we play

And let it ride
When the sun comes up
We won’t remember tonight
We jump another capitol
Flat on our faces
And that’s how we play

Let me see your G face

Let me see your G face! (Let me see your G face!) x2
G Face
Let me see your G face

Review:
The ‘G Face’ track comes on and when I first heard it, I almost thought the G stood for “gimmicky”, but soon found it to be one of the most unique tracks on the album that never takes itself seriously and stands out on purpose. Even the female background track saying “G face” only once in the entire track makes it worth a listen alone (or is it a guy?), then it switches gears back into the classic Orgy-esque digital trance cooldown at the bridge leaving one wondering – what really is a G face?

With the track being so new, I found it even more likable when I wrote down and intently listened to what Jay Gordon is saying, but still cannot decipher what could possibly be a G face. A guilt face? A goat face? The lyrics mention them being a band partying on tour traveling to different capitols (if I’m hearing correctly) and spending money (tips, or is it tits?) and wanting to see a G face on the replay. At the live show in L.A., Jay shouted out to a girl friend and said something about her knowing what a G face is and liking to make it. Who knows, it’s still early on the release, but this is one helluva jam!

MONSTER
(also known as ‘MONSTER IN ME‘ based on the digital download card files.)

(Monster.. Monster)

Surrounded by an army
They love you on the floor
(Maybe they love you… They really love you)
And the blood, sweat and tears
Makes ’em wanting more
(They want you more… They want you more)
Do what you touch (/)
So you want it
You’re ready, willing and able
(Ready, willing and able)
Little girl, don’t be so rude
The way you flaunt that attitude
I don’t need that bullshit tonight
I’m trying to get you in the mood

It’s not your fault
That the bitch in you
Is your enemy
She’s just afraid of the monster in you
The monster in me
The monster in me!

[Hook]
Ohh
How high can we get
So young and dumb
We forget
So innocent
Til we find out
The monster in you
Is the monster in me!

A little bit of torture
A little bit of pain
Na-na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na In pain

Dead and buried
Must be so scary
To be so underground
(I’ll take you out, I’ll take you out)
Save face with the basic crowd
They want you
Fight your way out
(As you won’t make it down)
Down and out on the Sunset Strip
(Down and out on the Sunset Strip)
Hard as black as your fingertips
(Hard as black as your fingertips)
Don’t look now, but you’ve lost your grip
I’m watching you now
I’m watching you now

It’s not your fault
That the bitch in you
Is your enemy
She’s just afraid of the monster in you
The monster in me
The monster in me!

[Hook]
Ohh
How high can we get
So young and dumb
We forget
So innocent
Til we find out
The monster in you
Is the monster in me!

Ohh
How high can we get
So young and dumb
We forget
So innocent
Til we find out
The monster in you
Is the monster in me!

(The monster in you is the monster in me)

Ahhh
I don’t know another way
To lock you up and throw away
The key is to the kingdom
And the locks of hate unite it babe (/)
In the middle of the night
Theyyyy wanna see
I’m just a monster
Coming for you
So go ahead in your dreams
Think you (/)
If I look over your shoulder (/)
Just ’cause it’s gonna be me  (/)
Just a cold-blooded killer
You’ll never kill the monster in me

Monster
Monster
Monster!

REVIEW:
Monster comes on, and it seems as though Orgy just got mainstream all of a sudden, playing with effects like its a requirement until the chorus gives us a curious melody. In most areas, the vocal filters really do work. The bridge is a wild gathering of v effects being sung at you and better when the hook focuses on Jay’s vocals. The song is catchy, and does have a tale to be told, which is something Orgy has done since their debut, Candyass, but can be considered a single for mainstream dance rock to some degree, because it is what radio stations would want to play off of this album. It stands out completely and that may be a good thing.

Everything is pretty much on point, down to being another tale of being around a groupie or someone wanting sex once again in verse 1 or talking about being  on Sunset Strip on Hollywood and a certain concert, perhaps.

Final Review:
It’s a nice wrap up and is very enjoyable, but then we’re left yearning for more Orgy after hearing such a polished final track and wondering what the 2nd EP they release this year has in store, giving such an ambiguous and wild-sounding ending to ‘Talk Sick’. “The monster in you is the monster in me.” Such bold words are quite fitting to be in the end of the track, tying up ‘Talk Sick’ with a 4.9 rating for me.

I spoke to Jay Gordon at their first show of the Sick Talk tour, as formerly mentioned, when I asked if there was another EP coming in which he confirmed is true. I spoke to his tour crew and was told that ‘Talk Sick’ just wrapped up, so they don’t have an official date for the release. Here’s to bigger and bolder things from Orgy continuing now – and on their continuance of releasing fresh music to new generations as well as the ones that grew up listening to them. #jaygordonlivesbitches

Meeting Jay Gordon and ORGY Performs w/ ‘Talk Sick’ EP Lyrics + Review

Orgy cardfront

KoRn signed Orgy to Elemtree Records in 1998 (when I was just 10 years old.) I have followed Orgy through Candyass, Vapor Transmission (2000) and even their third release (and first independent release under D1 Music) Punk Statik Paranoia (2004) – an EP of 9 tracks. Finally in 2012, they released a new song “Grime of the Century” with all new members besides lead singer Jay Gordon, but had no mention if there was an album associated with the single.

Jay Gordon & Anthony Tran - b&w

Me, Anthony Tran with Jay Gordon, lead singer of Orgy

It’s been 11 years since Orgy has released an album and now in March 2015, we’re given a 7-track EP known as Talk Sick. Released as a download card at their first tour of 2015 at The Whisky A Go Go on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA on 3.21.15 – and according to sources – was just mastered 3 weeks before then. So what can we expect from industrial nu-metal rockers Orgy? Is the album worth the listen?
Jay Gordon live Whiskey A Go Go 3.21.15 (main) photo by Anthony Tran, Trippy Tran Films
The answer is yes, yes and YES. There’s so much presented here in just these 7 tracks, but they never push too hard to fit in with the rest of the music industry today. Implementing their nu-metal roots with synth and hints of the 90’s sound of Candyass with a sprinkled mix of the early 2000’s Vapor Transmission and Punk Statik Paranoia are all presented here, but now the sound (and even the lyrics) have gotten more defined and a heck edgier with heavier guitars and electronic sounds being the album every Orgy fan (and even nu-metal fan) will love.

The band’s unique, and considerably explicit title of a band name, Orgy (meaning an orgy of sounds) is what you’re going to get in this release because each song does offer something different, including the essential need to be provocative with sex, drugs and rock and roll.

My favorite tracks:
Wide Awake and Dead
Talk Sick
Come Back
G Face

Orgy cardbackThe other songs had to grow on me, and some of them still are after a couple days, but are all so original that it’s worth listening to over and over again until “replay replay, let me see your G face” or “Suck It!”, or “I’ve seen the devil has got me in a spell, But I’m not one to kiss and tell” or “the monster in you is the monster in me!” is played and believe me – it will stick like imprints on your brain once you hear it.

Orgy performed all 7 songs on tour off of this EP and for good reason. See the live video recorded from my cell phone below. I listened intently to every song and wrote down lyrics from what I could understand. The lyrics link is below this video.

I have listened to the songs thoroughly and have done my best to write down the lyrics based on what I could hear (mixing vocals and effects make certain lyrics harder to distinguish.) Click the song titles in the link above to read the lyrics and to see stills from their 2015 show in LA. You can purchase the album from their website at http://www.orgymusic.com/talksick/

Just a few days after the show, Orgy released Talk Sick to be purchased online exclusively at their website for $8.99, $1.99 more than if you see them on tour.
